Tantric massage, sensual and sexual massage, erotic or pelvic massage

Oh how this subject pops up from time to time. There is still so much misunderstanding today about the differences between sensual healing massage and sexual massage, and of course the others that get thrown into equation, erotic massage and pelvic massage.

First of all, if you are looking for a quick sexual thrill and you are wanting to receive an erotic massage or even a pelvic massage (and the healing process is secondary in your mind), then I will recommend you look at the classified section of most newspapers today. There are so many people offering this type of service. The only problem I see happening when people frequent these places is that they eventually leave there feeling empty, unsatisfied and sometimes guilty. In most cases the client will receive a quick back rub lasting no more than 10 or 15 minutes, after which they turn over and receive a belly rub, and then, the focus of attention is entirely on offering a pelvic or genital massage. There is no genuine healing process, no balancing of chakras, and definitely no harmony experienced in mind, body or spirit. Just emptiness!

I have received calls where I have been asked if Shakti Gardens is a "massage parlour" or if we "got pretty young ladies". I then have to say "NO" to both these questions. We are here to honor our clients and treat them with respect. We are trying to assist people to re-connect with their inner desires, to release their dormant sexual energies, to make them more aware that they are unique. To assist them with understanding Tantra and its principles and ethics, and to lead them on a path of self discovery, and a new found awareness of their sexuality and sensuality.

Many people today still have sexual issues, body image issues and have a burning need to feel accepted, they have a need to be touched, admired, needed, and want to experience feelings of desire. Because of bad information from friends while growing up, tough upbringing where parents have been critical of everything, as well as imposing harsh restrictive (misinformed) view points during puberty, these people have become victims of distorted views on their own sexuality and sensuality. Some feel undesireable, unwanted, guilty, and even feel repulsive to themselves and to others.

When they start exploring the teachings of Tantra they slowly begin to understand themselves better. They begin to realise they are Divinely inspired creations, they develop a better understanding of who they are and what they are. They begin a journey in which they become thankful in everything and become more comfortable within themselves, and this in turn rubs off on others. They also begin to accept and understand their own sexuality and sensuality in a better light.

With Tantric Sensual Healing we address some of these problems. This is a genuine healing process in which we first work on de-stressing the client, balance their chakras and bring about a sense of healing, peace and harmony in mind, body and spirit. Once this is achieved, only then do we start working with their sensual and sexual energies. What we do (and what is done by many other genuine alternative healers) can never be compared to the work done with regards to pelvic or erotic massage!

It is a journey into which you surrender in to bliss, you feel and experience the changes in your physical body, you experience an energy shift, and you begin to understand the changes in your attitude towrds yourself and your sexuality. This healing assists you in being more responsible, as well as being more aware of your own sexual energy and that of others.

What an amazing journey of self-discovery, and new awakenings in which you shed the old restrictive and sometimes abusive teachings. Tantra and your Tantric Temple

At Shakti Gardens it is our dream to unite the different followers (experienced or novice) of Tantra, and the numerous teachers of Tantra to come together, and celebrate our love of life, our love of these unique teachings and our joy of experiencing this unique way of life.

Next to our healing studio we have a large venue room which we refer to as the "Tantra Lounge", it is in this room where we host yoga and art classes. Soon we will host Tantra Workshops and Discussion Groups. We hope to have Dakas and Dakinis from the Advait School come visit us as guest speakers and teachers at some of our events.

Should there be other teachers (practising Kundalini Yoga, Tantra, Sexual Wellness etc) who wish to be involved, please feel free to contact us. We want to create a safe secure venue where people can explore these teachings, experience working in a loving caring group, to assist them to grow and share knowledge, and also help them develop a healthy attitude towards their own sexuality and sensuality.

Oh what a diverse subject! So simple yet so misunderstood. As most of us know, Western teachings about Tantra has focussed so much on sexuality, yet it is so much more. It is a lifestyle change, a new appreciation, a new joy!

Tantra teaches us to CELEBRATE LIFE!

We are all unique, we all have our own blessings, our own unique lives. Learn to enjoy who you are, what you are and what you have. Sure, we have bumps in the road that upset us, but this is just part of our learning, to prepare us for future events, or to prepare us wit knowledge and wisdom as to how to handle these obstructions, so we can teach others or lead them effectively. God will never push you beyond your endurance, he will give you a solution to your problems.

Once we start putting everything into perspective, then other life opportunites will then fall into place. Eventually you will see a change in yourself with regards to your sexuality, sensuality and erotism. It is about getting a proper perspective and developing a thankful heart.

With my background in Christianity, I was always taught "count your blessings", or "be thankful in everything". In other words CELEBRATE LIFE.

At Shakti Gardens we encourage a healthy and natural attitude towards body culture and self acceptance. We want people to be comfortable with their own bodies, to have a better self-awareness of themselves, to be more self-confident and to be thankful that they are a unique Divinely inspried creation, each with their own set of wants, needs and desires. This they can experience either by having full body healing massage, experiencing a Sensual Sweat Lodge, or be part of a workshop, or simply by relaxing poolside with others who enjoy social nudism.

We recently installed solar heating for our pool, and will be offering Watsu (Water Massage/Shiatsu) soon. We also wish to start Skyclad Gatherings as well from our venue, by offering a safe secure private garden for like minded people who wish to meet others for nudist social events.

Skyclad Fertility Celebrations

Well, Spring is upon us, new growth abounds and inspires us. It is awesome to see this transition as we move toward summer.

Definite plans our now being put in place for our Skyclad Fertility Celebration - this will be co-hosted in conjunction with The Witchery. What we have in store for you is an outing to celebrate nature and the gifts that surround us. We shall meet at a designated place, whereupon you shall receive a gift pack, during the course of the day you will be enlightened about the ancient fertility practices and rites of a bygone era. You will also have a chance to participate in an arts and crafts workshop, and in the late afternoon/early evening we will start a large bonfire. Maybe bring in elements of the Burning Man Celebration which is held in the Nevada Desert annualy.

Once the burning starts we will encourage you to join the drum circle, or sit back and watch those who do fire dance, we want you to enjoy and celebrate the senses of your mind, body and spirit. Some have expressed a desire to Dance Skyclad, to remove the restraints of societal clothing, to be one with nature, and to experience the freedom that is often denied to us!

Sexual Wellness

Sexual Wellness is a multi-faceted discussion. So many people think that by popping a few multi vitamins, or a libido booster from time to time will ensure that they will encounter sexual wellness. Unfortunately it is not that simple!

Firstly we need to realise we live in a stressful world, and we need to be aware that stress and anxiety can destroy the libido. Too much alcohol and smoking can also lead to a loss in libido. We need to be more careful with what we put into our bodies, what we eat, how we live, and how we look after ourselves.

Some people enjoy a social drink to relax and unwind, yet some depend too heavily on alcohol - have you heard the saying "I drink to make other people seem more interesting"? Drinking will dull your senses, ruin the mood and leave you feeling unsatisfied. With smoking, the obvious and best known side affect is what it does to your lungs, leaving carbon deposits. But we need to look further, if your lungs are negatively affected through smoking, surely then, their effeciency is compromised. Your breathing is affected to such an extent that your body is not receiving the necessary levels of oxygen to function properly - during sexual activity your heart rate increases, you breathe more heavily and thus need more oxygen to perform better. Heavy smoking and drinking affect the taste of semen, making it bitter! A good healthy diet will assist in a big way in improving the taste of semen! So guys, take a moment and think of your loved one. Another bad side affect of smoking is premature aging - smoking not only affects your lungs, but destroys collagen in your skin, thus creating a situation where you appear to be older than what you are!

"Me Time"! This is more important that what you may think. With all the modern day stress, stuck in traffic, meeting deadlines etc, we need to find "Me Time" - a time for yourself where you can relax, unwind, escape the harshness of daily life. This could involve physical excercise, a hobby/pasttime or simply relaxing with a full body massage. Having massage needs to be a regular event, not every 3rd or 7th month and then hope to eliminate stress. No, it needs to be a special time set aside in which you explore the wonderful healing process, feel the bodies energies being renewed, and to come away feeling refreshed. Some people are in the fortunate position where they can have massage every week, others can only do this once a month, whatever your situation, try to set a time that is convenient for you to receive healing, and then stick to that time/day.

You must also want to be healed - do not have a massage as a sense of duty, but receive your healing with gratefulness and thanksgiving, realising that this is a process leading to a new and revitalised you. Be someone wanting to be filled with more vigour, wanting to feel the improved circulation in your body, wanting to feel energized. All of this will contribute and lead to better sexual wellness, you will also feel more sensual and will want to be more intimate more often!

Couples Sensual Therapy

Recently we were blessed with the news that Sherry would be working from our studio at Shakti Gardens.

She has her own unique healing therapy and style, in offering the Taoist Sexual Energy Massage, this is a wonderful deeply relaxing full body massage that she offers to males who prefer a female therapist

We are also now working together doing Couples Sensual Therapy - often I had requests in the past from couples wanting a male and female tharapist. Well that is now possible!

Tantra Lounge

For some time now we have been talking and discussing the possibility of creating a safe, secure venue (with privacy) for people who wish to explore Tantra, its teachings, ethics etc.

Some might just want to join a discussion group and ask questions, others might be more serious and wish to participate in workshops. What we hope to achieve is to provide a series of events, ranging from discussion groups to intense workshops, catering for all peoples, catering for all tastes. We will be inviting guest speakers (from other organizations such as the Advait Tantra School) to come speak, as I believe we can all learn from one another, and we all need to work together, encouraging and uplifting one another. Each one has their own "take" on Tantra, each one has their unique teaching and interpretation.

Other organizations are also welcome to use our facilities for their functions/workshops etc. We have many interesting subjects to cover - from "What are taboos" to "Sacred Sex, is it like Polyamory" Should you wish to join us for any of our events, please feel free to call me, or email me, let me know what you would prefer, what topics you would enjoy etc.
